History
In 1997 my sister, Barbara, who worked at helping others at Children's Hospital of Buffalo since age 18, began her long difficult challenge with breast cancer.
In 1999 my husband, Steve, took the initiative to utilized our business, Bedford's Greenhouse, to help gain support and promote the fight against breast cancer by growing an exclusive basket designed with a stunning mixture of pink impatiens.
Which my sister, Karen, who works at Roswell named:
Plant for Hope.
Plant for Hope baskets are sold at Bedford's Greenhouse throughout the spring season which begins May 1st every year!
In 2000, Barbara and I thought a one day event would be another way of giving hope and support to the many patients traveling down this difficult road she also faced.
2011 Plant for Hope now continues, in memory of two amazing people
In April of 2002, my sister, Barbara lost her battle and in July of 2010 my dad, "SAM", Who's gargantuan smile touched so many lives and I swear shined as bright as the Sun also lost his battle to cancer.
Feeling strongly that flowers help celebrate life, we purchased a huge stone planter in the Garden of Hope at Roswell. Each spring, it is filled with a beautiful arrangement of annuals.
~ 2008 Bedford's Greenhouse was added to the Wall of Donors at Roswell
~ 2009 WNY BC Resource Center added brilliantly designed tags to each wig saying "donated by Plant for Hope"
~ 2010 & 2011 Agency Hands in the Community from the Allstate Foundation rewarded Herm Clouse Allstate Insurance, with a $1000 grant. What an honor......the funds were donated to Roswell representing... Plant for Hope!
THANKS Herm, Anne and Pat!!
Plant for Hope has donated over $65,000
to Roswell Park
THANK-YOU!
Fighting Breast Cancer the best way we know how... TOGETHER!!
